OXHY 2025 at a glance
2025 marked a crucial transition for OXHY: from scientific demonstration to the construction of the technological, organizational, and industrial foundations necessary to transform quantum research into real energy solutions. It was a year of intense work, in which experimental results, infrastructure development, market validation, and team growth began to converge into an increasingly mature vision.
This article recounts the main steps along this path and introduces the contents of the 2025 Progress Report, a document that systematically collects data, results, and roadmaps towards 2026. You can download the full version of the 2025 Progress Report of OXHY by clicking here.
A vision taking shape
Throughout 2025, OXHY continued to develop its proprietary technology, Oxhycell, while strengthening the strategic framework surrounding it: from testing processes to standardization, from scientific collaborations to integration with industrial systems such as ORC.
The goal was not only to improve the performance of individual cells, but also to build a coherent technological ecosystem capable of supporting the next stages of engineering, industrialization, and market adoption. This evolution required a systemic approach, in which materials research, hardware development, testing infrastructure, and industrial strategy proceeded in a coordinated manner.
Technological advances: from the cell to the system
Research and development remained at the heart of activities in 2025. Over the course of the year, OXHY significantly expanded its understanding of hydrogel behavior and the interactions between materials and electrodes, working on numerous configurations and replication cycles to ensure reproducibility and stability over time.
At the same time, the entire experimental infrastructure was upgraded: new test stations, advanced instrumentation for material characterization, and dedicated test benches made it possible to increase experimental throughput and the quality of the data collected. Another fundamental step was the standardization of test procedures and the codification of systems, key elements for the transition from exploratory research to a more engineering-oriented phase.
Alongside hydroelectric cells, in 2025, activities related to ORC systems also began in a structured manner, with the aim of integrating Oxhycell into hybrid solutions for recovering energy from waste heat. This line of development opens up broader industrial application scenarios and represents a natural bridge between quantum materials research and the world of industrial energy.
From the laboratory to the ecosystem: market and events
Technological strengthening has been accompanied by growing market attention. In 2025, OXHY continued to receive expressions of interest from companies, investors, and technology partners, launching new business development initiatives and structuring a selection process for applications most consistent with the state of the art in technology.
Attendance at key events in the innovation ecosystem also played an important role. From participation in Pompeii 2025 – Timeless Entanglements, a symbolic event of the Year of Quantum Science and Technology, to Invitalia’s Investor Day, to the NeaPolis Innovation Technology Day at STMicroelectronics, 2025 was a year of visibility and discussion. In the latter context, OXHY was selected as one of the best exhibitors, a recognition that testifies to the interest in the technology developed.
Financial and organizational strength
During 2025, OXHY continued to strengthen its financial structure, continuing Phase 2 of its fundraising and benefiting from the contribution of public funding programs. Resource management remained focused on operational sustainability and maximizing the impact of R&D activities, in line with the company’s strategic priorities.
On an organizational level, the team grew and expanded to multiple operational sites, combining scientific expertise with the engineering and industrial skills needed to tackle the next phases. The achievement of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and UNI/PdR 125 certifications represented a further step towards a level of corporate maturity consistent with OXHY’s industrial ambitions.
Looking ahead to 2026
The work carried out in 2025 laid the foundations for a decisive 2026. Priorities will be focused on advancing the level of technological maturity, launching pilot projects, strengthening industrial partnerships, and completing the fundraising process. At the same time, research into materials and the development of Oxhycell–ORC integrated systems will continue.
